A year ago I didn’t know what a style guide was. I spent three months just practising on fake briefs before I sent a single proposal. The first client paid ₦20,000 for a logo I would now do in an afternoon — but it was the first time anyone paid me for design, and that mattered more than the amount. Show up on the slow days. That’s the whole story.

For a year I measured myself by how many people joined through me. Half of them never did a single lesson. I changed how I work: one person at a time, properly trained before I move to the next. My team is smaller now and it is the first time it has actually grown on its own.
