What network marketing actually is

12 min · video hosting arrives in Phase 4

Network marketing is a distribution model. A company makes products and, instead of paying for shelf space and advertising, pays independent distributors to sell those products directly to customers.

Distributors can also introduce other people who become distributors. When those people sell products, the person who introduced and trained them earns a percentage.

That is the whole mechanism. Everything else — the meetings, the ranks, the language — is built on top of those two facts.

Two things follow from this that you should be clear about before you go further:

  • You need actual customers. Not a garage full of product you bought yourself.
  • You are responsible for the people you introduce. If you cannot train them, you should not recruit them.
